Priorities
Addressing Housing Affordability
Housing that is affordable and attainable has become out of reach in our community. During my time as Mayor, I cut through red tape so our community was able to build urgently needed housing quickly. Today, we have more market-rate and affordable housing in the pipeline than any time in the last twenty years. We need to provide real housing options for everyone in our community, from first-time home buyers to seniors. I have a housing plan that looks at infill housing opportunities near jobs and transit and will allow us to hit our housing targets without changing the character of what we love about Healdsburg.
Public Safety & Wildfire Response
I fully support funding and staffing for our first responders. We need to invest upstream to prevent youth from becoming gang-involved and give our youngest residents the resources they need to thrive. As Mayor and councilmember, I supported the expansion of our homeless outreach team and prioritized funding a staff position to oversee our emergency management and planning efforts.
Climate Resilience
We need to protect Healdsburg’s beauty and natural resources while fortifying our communities against the ever-growing threats of climate change and wildfires. Investing in green infrastructure that not only shields our coastlines and forests, but also promotes a healthier ecosystem for future generations. As councilmember, I supported the adoption of our first-ever Climate Mobilization Strategy to reduce carbon emissions. I am committed to a just, green transition in Healdsburg and want to ensure we fully implement the Climate Mobilization Strategy.
Supporting Local Businesses & Creating Jobs
We must work to make everyday expenses more affordable for hardworking locals while supporting our local businesses and fostering a vibrant job market. Healdsburg’s small quaint charm is in part due to the unique local businesses that exist downtown. We should not allow formula retail or chain stores to take over our Plaza and downtown. Local businesses and shopping local helps to circulate our dollars time and again into our local economy, while chain stores degrade our local economy. I will continue to fight for a formula retail ordinance to protect downtown and protect our local economy. Whether you work on a farm, at a hotel, or in a restaurant — you deserve respect in your work , fair wages, access to workplace protections and benefits.
Supporting Families & Seniors
Seniors and families are the cornerstone of our communities. But times are tough. We need to expand access to affordable resources and community services, invest in affordable childcare, and make housing costs within reach to ensure that every resident of Healdsburg has the support they need to lead secure and dignified lives.
